Driving in Gages Lake and what it does to your vehicle

Gages Lake driving is lake neighborhood streets feeding Gages Lake Road, Washington Street, Route 120 and US-45. Commuters reach I-94 quickly, and local trips are short. That mix wears brakes and suspension on older side streets and keeps batteries from fully recharging in winter.

Good to know

• Grand Avenue east to Green Bay Road, then north, is a straightforward route.
• If your car sits near the lake in winter, a spring underbody check catches rust early.
