Driving in Somers and what it does to your vehicle

Somers driving mixes I-94 and Highway 31 commutes, campus traffic and rural roads on the west side. Lake effect winters and heavy salt are hard on brakes, exhaust and batteries. Kenosha County vehicles fall under the Wisconsin emissions program.

Good to know

• Students: a pre-winter check covers battery, tires and wipers.
• US-41 south to Route 173 avoids downtown Kenosha.
• Wisconsin emissions failures: we repair the cause, and you retest through the state program.
