Driving around Lake Catherine
Lake Catherine driving is narrow lake roads, seasonal traffic and boats in tow all summer, then quiet roads with drifting snow in winter. Vehicles that sit near the water rust faster underneath, and towing puts load on brakes, transmissions and cooling systems.
- Have the tow vehicle checked before boating season: brakes, transmission fluid, cooling and trailer wiring.
- Route 173 east is a direct route, about 14.9 miles.
- Seasonal residents: ask us for a check before you store a vehicle for the winter.
In a straight line, Lake Catherine is about 14 miles west of our shop, in Lake County, Illinois. Its nearest neighbors on our list: Channel Lake (1.0 miles), Antioch (1.8 miles) and Trevor (2.0 miles).
