- Go south on Lewis Avenue to 21st Street.

Driving around Winthrop Harbor
Winthrop Harbor has a lot of lakefront exposure. Wind and spray off Lake Michigan near North Point Marina carry salt and moisture, and vehicles parked near the water in winter rust faster underneath. Many households here tow boats or trailers in summer, which adds heat and load to transmissions, brakes and cooling systems. Spring is a good time for an underbody check and a brake inspection.
- If you tow a boat to North Point Marina, ask us to check transmission fluid, trailer wiring and brakes before the season.
- Sheridan Road and 7th Street are the other routes south if Lewis Avenue is backed up.
- Wisconsin is minutes away, so we see plenty of vehicles that split time between Winthrop Harbor and Kenosha County. Each state has its own emissions program.
In a straight line, Winthrop Harbor is about 3 miles northeast of our shop, in Lake County, Illinois. Its nearest neighbors on our list: Zion (2.4 miles), Pleasant Prairie (3.7 miles) and Beach Park (4.3 miles).
Work at the shop
Expect a steady share of transmission service, brake repair, exhaust repair and car battery replacement, the services Winthrop Harbor drivers ask about most.
