Driving around Russell
Russell roads are rural: long stretches of Route 173 and Kilbourn Road, farm traffic, few streetlights and quick access to I-94. Many residents drive pickups and SUVs and put on highway miles toward Kenosha, Gurnee and Chicago. Rural roads and gravel are hard on tires and suspension, and winter wind across open fields means drifting snow and salt on the main roads.
- Route 173 to Green Bay Road is the simplest route and avoids town traffic.
- Long highway commutes bring maintenance intervals up quickly. We can track what is due next.
In a straight line, Russell is about 3 miles northwest of our shop, in Lake County, Illinois. Its nearest neighbors on our list: Zion (5.5 miles), Wadsworth (4.3 miles) and Pleasant Prairie (3.9 miles).
Work at the shop
The jobs Russell drivers bring in lean toward wheel alignment, steering and suspension, oil change and maintenance and transmission service.
